great location, amazing staff, neat rooms, very clean, great coffee, good food, good cocktails, wifi,
It is within walking distance to everything. Loved that Stumptown Coffee and Clyde Common had entrances to the lobby.
Always seemed to have a panhandler outside the front window.
Helpful staff. Delicious food at Clyde Common
Sink should be in bathroom. Needs to be a light for desk
Location downtown. Every other hotel was booked.
Funky rehabbed building with rustic qualities. Too expensive for the quality if the room.
Love the vibe at the Ace - very chill and funky. Of course, great coffee in the lobby (Stuptown). Very interesting design in rooms. Really feels like a boarding house more than a hotel.
Facilities are a little lacking. Specifically for a business traveler, having no fitness room and no partnership with a nearby gym is a big drawback. Website could add a bit more about where to park, whether or not there is room service, gym, etc.
It is a slick boutique hotel.
For the price I paid, over $200, for 1 night, I should have had a bathtub.
Not much except my teenagers liked their room and stereo.
Grungy lobby Very Noisy Very expensive for what you get Other guests were inconsiderate and noisy Breakfast room was cramped. And limited options. Felt like a 1940s boarding house rather than a hip hotel charging nearly $200 a night.
1. I like the design sense 2. love the location 3. the cofee shops next door are great 4. the toiletries in the bathroom are nice 5. love the wooden staricases 6. wifi is fast and thanks for making it free
1. I absolutely detest having a wash basin in the room 2. At the prices you charge i am amazed you dont have moisturizer in the room 3. am surprized you dont have a mini bar 4. i dont like dealing with keys for the room door
Very uniquely decorated room...absolutely fabulous. Adjoining coffee shop and bar were both fantastic. Great shower. Good location with lots of restaurants and bars within a five minute walk....and the legendary Powells bookstore is just round the corner...this is a must do :)
Fun design features and ammenities. Nice to be next to great coffee and bar. Loved the photo booth.
Lighting was marginal in room.
Quirky design elements - still very comfortable and warm feeling. Great location
no decaf coffee in breakfast buffet
The decor is great. The staff was friendly.
It was horrible. My room was located on the second floor, on the same floor where breakfast is served - and rifght across the hall. I was woken up by the vacuum cleaner at 5:30, and one hour later the construction across the street started. No small construction job, there were dump trucks, Caterpillars, beep-beep-beeping of things backing up and the loud sound of cement pieces and general rubble being dropped into metal dumpsters. I am a heavy sleeper - people joke I can sleep through anything. This ruined - yes, ruined - my trip and I was comepletely exhausted the next day for work and later, my 3 hour drive north. I will never stay there again.
the way the building heritage was maintained. the decor matched the era in which the hotel was first built at the same time providing todays emenities. friendly, courteous and helpful staff. the peopleplace atmosphere of the lobby, internet cafe, coffee shop etal. the continental breakfast. the location of the hotel.
nothing comes to mind
The fact the most of the furniture and gear was second-hand. I also loved the overall aesthetics.
The bathtub was even. It would move as I was in the shower. I also thought the matress was a bit hard.
I love the location and restaurant choices nearby and in the hotel were tremendous. I stay at Starwood (Westin, Sheraton etc) all of the time for business travel and it was refreshing to stay somewhere fun and quaint. The decor in the room and room layout was very hip and "Portland Chic." The Malin and Goetz body care/shampoo was amazing and a nice touch.
